{"id":877,"date":"2015-06-20T11:03:39","date_gmt":"2015-06-20T11:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/painremovers.apps-1and1.net\/?page_id=877"},"modified":"2023-05-11T21:58:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T21:58:36","slug":"blog-01","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/painremovers.co.nz\/index.php\/blog-01\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Things you can do at home when you are in pain:<\/h2>\n<h4><strong>Painkillers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Take them at night so you can sleep as without sleep you can&#8217;t heal.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Heat or Ice<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Apply heat via wheat bag or a microwaved hand-towel if simply sore.<br \/>\nUse an ice pack or ice cubes (inside a sock and wrapped in a towel) if sore <strong>and<\/strong> swollen\/hot<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ointments<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Rub in deep heat cream if simply sore.<br \/>\nAnti-inflammatory cream if sore <strong>and<\/strong> swollen\/hot<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Compression<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Bandage a sore joint either with an elastic bandage or a compression brace.<br \/>\nSpecialised joint braces can be purchased from many chemist shops.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Keep moving<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Move sore backs and other joints gently in a range they can tolerate without much pain. Backs respond well to gentle yoga cat\/cow stretches.\u00a0 Get up often and walk around as sore backs like to seize up when seated too long.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve already had a massage or some physio, do the recommended stretches and exercises several times a day whenever you have an opportunity, at least once a day.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>General Advice on Exercise<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Many people&#8217;s exercise regimes are quite repetitive, especially those of runners, cyclists and other types of endurance athletes.
