What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, using acupuncture needles. The goal of TMC (and thus acupuncture) is to restore balance and harmony between oneself and the environment one lives in.  This leads to wellness and good health both in the mind and in the body.

The needles used are sterile, one way needles, so there is absolutely no risk of infection.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel only a slight sensation when the needle is inserted. The sensation is in no way similar to having injections or having blood taken at a doctor’s surgery.

The needles are designed not to hurt the skin. There is usually no blood involved at all. Very occasionally, there is a drop of blood if the needle is inserted into a capillary.
